solsticesingers.org

When you've finished hanging your holiday lights, you'll find plenty of great activities to do this weekend. Before Christmas comes another celebration: the winter solstice. In Woods Hole this weekend, the Solstice Singers perform holiday music in their lively Renaissance style. Also this weekend, in Dennis, a livecrècheand candlelight walk happens on Saturday. Fans of Garrison Keillor’sPrairie Home Companion may want to head to Highfield Hall in Falmouth for Around the Fireplace: A Stay-at-Home Holiday, which offers music, skits, as well as warm cider and cookies. Looking ahead: a trio of local actors who created their own musical revue -- "Mama and Her Boys" -- previewing a sequel for one night in Falmouth, and it's got a holiday theme.

Steve Junker and Kathi Scrizzi Driscoll talk about upcoming events every Thursday during All Things Considered. Audio of this week's conversation is posted above - give it a listen.

Steve is Managing Editor of News. He came to WCAI in 2007. He also hosts the weekly News Roundup on Friday mornings and produces The Fishing News.
