WCAI's News Roundup: Journalists Discuss Top Local Stories of the Week

Falmouth continues its investigation into a batch of free beach parking passes that have been distributed in town.

WCAI News Director Sean Corcoran hosts a discussion about the top local news stories of the week. Joining him are Patrick Cassidy of the Cape Cod Times; Jim DeArruda at the New Bedford Standard-Times; Joshua Balling of the Nantucket Inquirer and Mirror; Tim Wood of the Cape Cod Chronicle; and Barry Stringfellow of the Martha's Vineyard Times.

Among the stories they discuss: the Massachusetts Military Academy is rocked this week when it received word that two of the school's graduates are missing after their ship sunk during a hurricane; the Mashpee School Committee launches its own investigation into why the schools superintendent made an allegedly un-wanted, early-morning visit to a student home; managers of the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station place workers on fire watch; study finds fish larvae are moving to cooler waters; questions are raised as to why officials shut down a needle exchange program in Hyannis after a police sting operation; and Falmouth investigates what apparently is the long-standing practice of distributing free parking passes to town beaches.
