Old Time Days of Sail Return to Provincetown, & more: Best Bets for the Weekend

Glenn Burgess/Debra Heimerdinger

Provincetown Harbor is going to look like another century this weekend - and that means plenty of fun activities. Not only is the restored whaleship Charles W. Morgan visiting, but also a Tall Ship of Delaware, the Kalmar Nyckel, and many events are programmed around the boats' visits.

Also in Provincetown, fans of Marilyn Monroe have a rare chance to see an exhibit of her fashion photos by Milton H. Greene at a local gallery.

It's the first weekend of the Martha's Vineyard Film Festival, and there are some celebrity guest stars scheduled to appear. Like... Dakota Fanning, Peter Sarsgaard, and mother-daughter pair Maggie Gyllenhaal-Naomi Foner

And looking ahead: more celebrities – and laughs! The Nantucket Comedy Festivalstarts next Wednesday, with guests Peter Farrelly and Dick Cavett.

Steve Junker and Kathi Scrizzi Driscoll discuss upcoming events every Thursday on All Things Considered. This week's conversation is posted above - give it a listen!

Steve is Managing Editor of News. He came to WCAI in 2007. He also hosts the weekly News Roundup on Friday mornings and produces The Fishing News.
