Outer Cape Chorale is saying goodbye to founder and conductor Jon Arterton.

The Outer Cape Chorale is giving concerts in Provincetown and Orleans this weekend, and these are special because the chorale members are saying goodbye to someone very important: conductor Jon Arterton, who founded the chorale in 2002 and is now moving to Florida.

How Christmas has been celebrated in other countries is the theme for two events on Saturday that include both storytelling and music. The first brings A Child's Christmas in Wales to Napi's Restaurant in Provincetown. And Irish storyteller Tomaseen Foley brings  his show A Celtic Christmasto the Monomoy  High School Performing Arts Center in Harwich.

On Sunday, all types of music come together for a program that features many Cape performers gathering for a good cause: it's the cast-of-zillions 12th annual Cavalcade for the Homeless, hosted by Chandler Travis. More info.

And coming up next week, two groups on Nantucket are joining forces for two holiday programs. Next Wednesday evening the Whaling Museum hosts Holiday Stories, and on Thursday, Theater Workshop of Nantucket performs anisland-themed version of the holiday classic Miracle on 34th Street.

Steve Junker and Kathi Scrizzi Driscoll discuss upcoming events every Wednesday on All Things Considered. Audio of this week's conversation is posted below - give it a listen.
