Finding housing on the Cape and Islands isn’t just a struggle for low income residents. Even middle income earners who don’t qualify for affordable housing programs can’t afford to buy or rent market rate housing. On The Point, we hear the stories of those stuck in the housing gap, how it impacts our overall economy, and some potential solutions to create more workforce housing. Mindy Todd interviews several guests about the issues: Wendy Northcross, Chief Executive Officer of the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce, Philippe Jordi, executive director of the Island Housing Trust on Martha’s Vineyard, Kristi Senatori, Deputy Director at the Cape Cod Commission, Lorelei Stevens, business reporter at the Cape Cod Times, who is spearheading a series starting this Sunday in the paper that looks the housing issue, and Cindy McCormick of the Cape Cod Times whose story for the Time’s Housing series looks at housing on Nantucket. Here's a link to Smarter Cape Cod for more ideas about managing our land.
