A palette of great event offerings this weekend to choose from! In Eastham, theTurnip Festivalturns 10 years old, featuring unique new ways to celebrate the often-undersung root vegetable. If you are a drummer - or if you just love to listen - Barnstable High School hosts a Day of Percussionon Sunday, a free event with classes about drumming taught by experts, including a former member of Blue Man Group and a Broadway drummer for "Lion King" and "American Idiot." "Broadway to Hollywood Celebrates the Holidays" opens Saturday night at the Academy Playhouse in Orleans - it's a fun show, being compared to 1960s-style Christmas TV specials.  And next week on Nantucket, the Historical Association kicks off its annual Festival of Wreaths with a preview party on Tuesday.

Each Thursday Steve Junker and Kathi Scrizzi Driscoll discuss upcoming events on All Things Considered. Audio of this week's conversation is posted above. Give it a listen.

Steve is Managing Editor of News. He came to WCAI in 2007. He also hosts the weekly News Roundup on Friday mornings and produces The Fishing News.
