Celebrate Chocolate and Romance this Valentine's Weekend: Best Bets for Going Out

WCAI

It’s Valentine’s weekend, and in Chatham that’s reason for a townwide celebration that features chocolate and many opportunities to express your love.

This Valentine's weekend Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary wants to foster your love of turtles. Children can find out what it takes to stage a turtle rescue and learn about turtle strandings.

Proof of what a difference a group of teenagers can make in their community will be seen on stage Friday night at Cape Cod Community College, with the Shelter from the Storm fundraising concert.

Movie fans, and particularly those who are big watchers of the Oscars, have some unusual events they can take advantage of this week. The first Cape Cod theater screening of Still Alice will feature a discussion with writer Lisa Genova.  And there are opportunities to see some Oscar-nominated short features, including at the Martha's Vineyard Film Society.

Steve Junker and Kathi Scrizzi Driscoll discuss upcoming events each Wednesday on All Things Considered. Audio of this week's conversation is posted above - give it a listen.

Steve is Managing Editor of News. He came to WCAI in 2007. He also hosts the weekly News Roundup on Friday mornings and produces The Fishing News.
