Book Showcases Today's Cape Cod Artists

Deborah Forman's new book Contemporary Cape Cod Artists: People and Places shows us how today's Cape Cod artists go beyond the landscape for inspiration. The artists are inspired by people, by the dynamic activity of figures; by the calm of a still life; and by the fascination of an interior view, whether home, public place, or their imagination. The author interviewed forty-five artists including painters, sculptors, photographers, and printmakers. They share their art, inspirations and approaches, personal lives, and many intriguing stories. Illustrations are combined with written portraits of the artists, giving insight into their creative processes and and motivations. The book also explores connections to art history, and the importance of art in our society, not only for the artist, but for all of us.
