WCAI 15th Anniversary Party

You are invited to celebrate WCAI's 15th Anniversary with station staff, friends, and neighbors at the Captain Kidd Restaurant & Bar on September 30th from 5-7 pm. New Bedford Working Waterfront Festival

If you're attending the Working Waterfront Festival in new Bedford, be sure to come by and say hello to WCAI's News Director Sean Corcoran and science editor, Heather Goldstone. Both will be signing copies of "The Long Haul: the future of New England's Fisheries". The event will feature a wide variety of fishing exhibits, demonstrations, and classes. 11th Connecting for Change Conference

WCAI is the media sponsor for the 11th Annual Connecting for Change Conference in New Bedford, October 23rd-25th 2015. This is the largest annual sustainability and social justice conference on the east coast. This year's speakers include: Nikki Silvestri on carbon sequestration and feminine leadership, Doug Rauch on affordable nutrition for the food insecure, and Jackson Koeppel a Brower Youth Award winner exploring co-op alternatives to the extractive economy and many others. Martha's Vineyard Living Local Harvest Festival
October 2nd & 3rd 2015
Celebrate sustainable living on Martha's Vineyard and enjoy learning about agriculture, fishing, and land conservation, and more during the 2-day event. You'll meet the individuals on the island who are working hard to create a cooperative and sustainable environment, and have the opportunity to enjoy food and entertainment at the event. WCAI's Local Food Report is proud to support the event and station staff will be on hand to participate in event activities.
A Celebration of Sea, Farm & Vine

What's an island feast without just the right mix of culinary talent and farmers, fishermen, oyster producers, and artisans? How about Vineyard-inspired dinner pop-ups and small batch experiences with "right pours" from around the world. You can curate your own delicious itinerary October 15th-18th. Philanthropy Day on Cape Cod

Now in its 19th year, Philanthropy Day on Cape Cod will be held November 10th at the Hyannis Resort & Conference Center. You may nominate individuals, businesses, and organizations to be recognized at this year's event by filling out an online nomination form before the September 23rd deadline. Event attendees may register at a discounted rate before October 9th and will have the opportunity to learn, network, celebrate, and support peers and colleagues in the local philanthropic community. This event always sells out early. WCAI is proud to once again sponsor the event and will be in attendance for the conference.
6th Annual Oyster Symposium

A conference of the World Oyster Society that seeks to identify, integrate, catalyze, and amplify the issue of ocean preservation and restoration efforts. Recognizing the fundamental role that Oysters play in the interplay between land and sea in global environments and feeding the world's hungry.
