Writers at the Nantucket Book Festival

J. Junker

On The Point, we talk with three authors who will be at this year’s Nantucket Book Festival.  Mindy Todd hosts.

Author and Professor of Psychiatry Kay Redfield Jamison writes about the relationship between manic depressive illness and creative genius. Jamison’s book is titled An Unquiet Mind: A Memoir of Moods and Madness.

Isabel Wilkerson is the author of The Warmth of Other Suns: The Epic Story of America’s Great Migration. For over five decades African Americans fled the south for northern and western cities. We talk with Wilkerson about some of the people who were part of that migration and their stories.

Cooking, eating, and writing: as the former editor of Gourmet Magazine and the author of several memoirs and cookbooks, Ruth Reichlhas done all three. We talk with her about her latest book My Kitchen Year: 136 Recipes That Saved My Life.
