Weekend Outlook: Haggis, Orchids, Jazz, and a Winter Beach Party

Cape Cod Times

There's a real variety of events to choose from this weekend. Here's your Weekend Outlook.

For people who enjoy all things Scottish, Friday night is a chance to celebrate poet Robert Burns and a lot of Scottish traditions at the 1717 Meetinghouse in West Barnstable

If you can’t wait until spring, you can get a dose of colorful gardens this weekend by visiting the Cape and Islands Orchid Society’s29th annual show and sale in Hyannis.

If you’re thinking even further into the year to summer, then you can pretend you’re at the beach at a fundraiser for the ALS Family Charitable Foundation Saturday night in Mashpee.

Jazz musician Ben Rosenblum.

It’s been 100 years since the first recording of jazz music, and pianist Ben Rosenblum is marking that occasion—and a more personal one—on Sunday at the Cultural Center of Cape Cod at 2pm.
