Evidence of the positive impacts of youth mentoring programs is overwhelming. Students engaged in these programs are more likely to stay in school, have a better chance of enrolling in higher education and are less likely to engage in risky behavior. On The Point, we discuss different student mentoring programs and hear from both mentors and mentees about why they participate.
Guests on the program are Tracey Crago, director of Falmouth Volunteers In Public Schools (VIPS), Shona Vitelli, VIPS Mentor Programs leader, Bruce Bumpus, a mentor, and Beth Homand, a mentor in the VIPS College Mentoring program. Mindy Todd hosts.
