Brewster is home to some 80 ponds, covering more acreage than any other town on the Cape. Other towns are also concerned about the growing problem of bacterial contamination, excessive nutrients, invasive species, and the impacts of human development. On The Point, Mindy Todd hosts a discussion about the health of area ponds and challenges to pond restoration. Guests on the program are: Sue Leven, Brewster town planner; Chris Miller, director of the Brewster Department of Natural Resources; Tom Cambareri, watershed management director at the Cape Cod Commission; and Mark Nelson, senior hydrologist with the Horsely Witten group.
