Oyster and Scallop Festivals, & more: Best Bets for the Weekend

Good food and good music are two great enticements for going out this weekend. The Bourne Scallop Festival celebrates the bivalve, and offers a whole lot more: chowder, lobster rolls, burgers, and desserts. In a fundraiser for the Audubon Society, the Barnstable Harbor Oysterfest offers an elegant affair with dishes from local restaurants at Long Pasture Wildlife Sanctuary in Cummaquid on Saturday night. Also in Barnstable on Staurday, the Cotuit Center for the Arts has down-home music and BBQ on the menu for the Barnstable Americana Music Fest. And classic old wood-sided cars are on display at  “Woodies on the Green,” in Yarmouthport on Saturday afternoon.

Steve Junker and Kathi Scrizzi Driscoll discuss these events and more in the audio posted above.
