Mindfulness Practice Helps Cape Kids

J. J.

Educators and students are learning the benefits of mindfulness. Calmer Choice, a program who's mission is to help young people lead lives of kindness and compassion towards themselves and others, began at Barnstable High School five years ago. They have since reached 5000 children across the Cape. Mindy Todd talks with guests on The Point about ways to teach young people how to manage stress and resolve conflict, and the latest research showing the positive impact mindfulness has on the brain. The guests are: Fiona Jensen, President and Founder of Calmer Choice; Adria Kennedy, Calmer Choice Program Director, psychiatric nurse practitioner;  Allison Graham, health teacher at Cape Cod Light House Charter School; and Elen Flanagan, Vice Principal at Ezra Baker Elementary.
