Cat's Eyes, Taws, Bumboozers, and Clambroths - the vocabulary of marbles is almost as varied as the glass balls themselves. You can knuckledown (prepare to shoot your marble) at Marble Mania at the Sandwich Glass Museum, which opens its annual Glassblowers Christmas exhibit this weekend.

On Friday evening there is a reception for the opening of four art exhibits at the Cultural Center of Cape Cod in South Yarmouth, and one features work by dozens of artists who probably haven’t had a chance to display their work publicly before. More info.

Bernard Greenhouse was a well-known cellist who attracted cellists from all over the world for lessons at his Wellfleet home. An event this weekend kicks off a yearlong celebration of his accomplishments. More info.

Nantucket has for centuries had a diverse ethnic population, and the island’s Historical Association is celebrating that history with a festival on Sunday. More info.

Steve Junker and Kathi Scrizzi Driscoll discuss upcoming events every Wednesday on All Things Considered.  Audio of this week's conversation is posted below.
