Each summer, beach lovers eagerly await a list of the country's top beaches. Stephen Leatherman, a coastal researcher and professor at Florida International University, is master of the list. This year, Coast Guard Beach in Eastham made number five. Kathryn Eident talked with Leatherman, who is also known as "Dr. Beach," about his research and what it takes to make the list.
Stephen Leatherman will be at the Paymet Performing Arts Center in Truro on Tuesday, August 9 at 4 p.m. to talk about his research. Proceeds will benefit Friends of the Cape Cod National Seashore.
