As we head into the last weekend of September, local anglers are looking toward the fall run, when fish migrating southward will pass through our waters. The question every year is: will the fall run be a good one?
Judging by how this season has set-up, there's reason to believe this fall could bring great fishing.
There appears to be more bait in the water than most fishermen can remember seeing in ten years or more. This is almost certainly the reason false albacore have been holding so close to shore for so long - and they may continue into early-mid October.
We will be expecting bigger striped bass and bluefish too coming down the coast, feeding heavily. Good stocks of baitfish may keep the bigger fish from moving through too fast.
Steve Junker and Kevin Blinkoff discuss the prospects for fall fishing - including tautog, and lake fishing - in the audio posted below. Give it a listen.
This is the last Fishing News of 2015! Thanks for a great year.
