Immigrants and Foreign Workers

Ten years ago this week agents from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement raided a leather factory in New Bedford.  That event still resonates with the immigrant community.  We talk about the raid, and the current climate that it generated.  We also look at how changes to foreign worker visa programs are expected to affect local businesses.  Mindy Todd's guests include Matthew Lee, immigration attorney and partner with the firm Tocci + Lee; Helena DaSilva Hughes, executive director of the Immigrants Assistance Center in New Bedford; Bristol County Sheriff Thomas Hodgsonand Mac Hay, owner of Mac's Seafood Restaurants on Cape Cod.

Any Massachusetts resident who has witnessed or experienced bias-motivated threats, harassment or violence may call the Attorney General's Hotline at 1-800-994-3228.
