Here Come Banjos

Abigail Washburn and Bela Fleck are playing two shows in the area next week.

They're modern traditionalists, a pair of banjo players with peerless chops and a love for ballads, gospel, blues, and music that takes you into unusual corners.  And Bela Fleck and Abigail Washburn are also married and touring behind their first album as a duo.  They bring their banjo mastery to our region with a pair of concert dates this week, at the Zeiterion Theater in New Bedford on April 12, and on Martha's Vineyard on April 15.

Steve Junker spoke with them for WCAI's All Things Considered.  They talk about the challenges of recording with a 4-month-old, deciding whose lyrics get chosen for a song, and looking forward to tossing rocks in the water while on Martha's Vineyard. The interview is posted above - give it a listen.
