Falling Into the Mouth of a Whale

New England Historical Society

Peleg Nye was a veteran 19th-century whaler who became a celebrity when, on a disastrous voyage, he fell into a dying whale's mouth.  Nye was seen as the whale slipped beneath the surface, his legs protruding between its teeth. Cape Cod writer Nils Bockmann talks to WCAI's Mindy Todd about his book Peleg Nye: The Jonah of Cape Cod.
