Driving Miss Daisy Returns to the Stage

mvplayhouse.org

Most of us remember Driving Miss Daisy from the 1989 film staring Jessica Tandy and Morgan Freeman; the story follows the decades long relationship between a southern Jewish matriarch and her African American chauffeur. Driving Miss Daisy originated as a 1987 Off Broadway play and it returns to the stage this fall at The Martha’s Vineyard Playhouse. Joining host Mindy Todd in The Point studio are MJ Bruder Munafo, Artistic and Executive Director of the Vineyard Playhouse, and actor Rob Karma Robinson, who plays the role of chauffeur Hoke Coleburn.

Mindy Todd is the host and producer of The Point on WCAI which examines critical issues for Cape Cod and the Islands. She brings more than 40 years of experience in radio and television to WCAI.
