Birding is Great in October

October is a great month for birding. Lots of bait fish in the water are providing feasts for jaegers, shearwaters, terns and many other sea birds this month. Weedy lots, community gardens, and municipal wastelands are full of seed plants and thus also species such as migrating sparrows and warblers, and raptors too... And it's time to get the bird feeders ready! Mindy Todd and Mark Faherty, Science Coordinator at Mass Audubon's Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary, bring us the latest Bird News on The Point. Please also note that the Nantucket Birding Weekend is taking place October 16 through 18. For more information check the Linda Loring Nature Foundationwebsite.
